Mr Cushman began in 1901 with two cousins who built agricultural machinery and bicycle engines. The company they started then has since grown into a manufacturer of the largest range of commercial vehicles on the current market. During World War I, it supplied the company engines with two and four horsepower to operate water pumps, cream separators, washing machines and wood saws. In the Second World War, the company produced scooters that were used by the navy, army and air force. Now, almost 120 years later, this professional brand still offers robust and reliable vehicles for various industries. At the present time, Cushman, just like Ransomes Jacobsen English E-Z-GO, to parent company Textron, and the transport vehicles are produced by Textron Specialised.
