E-Z-GO was founded in 1954 by two brothers who were convinced that existing golf carts weren't good enough; it could be done better. This marked the beginning of the construction of a vehicle that would truly meet users' needs.
The brand was, and still is, a global leader in transport and a leading manufacturer of golf carts, utility vehicles, and personal transport vehicles. The brand is renowned for its excellent operational performance. In 2009, it even received an award for operational excellence: the Shingo Prize. In the same year, the company's main plant was named one of the top 10 factories in North America by Industry Week magazine.
Since 1960 the company has been part of Textron Inc. This overarching organisation also includes the brand Ransomes Jacobsen. Pols is also the importer for this brand. The vehicles are produced by Textron Specialized Vehicles, a division of Textron Inc.
